Hi all,

This is a great site! I have been having difficulty soldering relatively large pieces of metal together (two different projects: 6" x 4" piece of copper into a cylinder and two 1.5" x 6" pieces of brass together. I have a fairly old propylene torch (not sure of the make) and I have noticed the rubber hose that connects it to the tank is slightly cracked. At any rate even getting easy solder to flow is extremely difficult. I am using flux intended for jewelry from Rio Grande (sorry can't remember the name exactly.) Is the torch leaking likely my problem? Or is more the large size of my projects?
