Please help Pewter casting

Casting I have just taken up casting pewter. I am getting as near as I can tell some gassing on the face. Let me back up i am making my own RTV one sided or open face molds. I am rubbing the mold with graphite, I have a small electric melting pot and have tried it on every setting. I don't have enough info on

I don't have enough info on how you are casting. you can email me for assistance. Talc is normally used to dust molds. Keep sections thinner than 1/4"(thinner is better). Use closed molds with proper venting if possible. You need to control temperature of the pewter. One of the members of the Yahoo newsgroup Castinghobby does proffesional pewter casting in these molds, and will probably help you (it may take two or three days to catch his attention, so keep asking). If that doesn't work, write me at michael.a.porter@comcast.net and I will look him up for you.
