Casting

I've spent most of my life making a living for my family in the photographic business and using what ever time left over to "tinker"(my wife's term). Some of that tinkering was metal casting, more so since retirement I'm glad to say. I've a web site that tells about the most recent metal casting journey including pictures. You might find some humor and entertainment in the exploits described there.

Don, I've been wanting to

Don,

I've been wanting to make a waste-oil fired forge for some time now so I'm glad you've dropped in. Can you give me some information on how to build the burner? I looked at your site but didn't see any information on the burner itself.

Thanks,

Rich

waste oil burner

Rich,
Sorry for the looong delay,my wife had back surgery and I've been full time nurse, cook, housekeeper etc.and am just now getting back to business as she's doing well. Actually the delay has allowed for an interesting waste oil evaporative burner design to show itself.I'm intending to build a similar burner because this design allows more control(especially in the lower heat ranges). Check out the "backyardmetalcasting" site and specifically in the burner engineering section, the"EVA" evaporative burner thread. If you haven't seen it yet, you'll find it a simple and easy build with great control.
Hope this lsate post will still help...
