Wind Spinners and garden art

Several years ago I was interested in garden art and wind spinners. I bought some from a store that had a fan and properly located lights. Later in the real world the wind doesn't spin them very well(Cheap fishing swivils) and the the light source needs to be behind the viewer.

Copper welding

I have been creating water features using soft copper foil and tubing. I don't like the color of solder and tried de-oxidized copper with a gas torch. The copper tubing melted before the rod. What success have others had with a color matching method of joining copper.
