Brazing rod

brazing | copper Has anyone ever used a phoson/copper rod 0% silver for brazing copper? I was reading about them and it seems like the fumes that come off of the phospherous are harmful if breathed. Dick Yep

I use the Harris O phos copper rod all of the time. Probably just went through a tube of it tonight. Hate that you only get 18" length rods. Now I get to weld all of the butts together. www Metalrecipes -- heat and beat to the desired shape, repeat as necessary. » reply |

Phos-copper rod
I use it all the time with no problems. Any welding and grinding operations need ventilation away from the face. An overhead vent draws the fumes to the face which is not good.
If you have a small shop, at least have a small fan blowing from behind, or from the side. I have more issues with sanding than with welding copper. If you have a burning nose or eyes, consider upping the ventilation.
