Fabrication hydraulic | new member | press | stamping I just joined art metal and this group. I am very interested in hydraulic metal forming. I don't have a press but need/want one. How am I going to justify this to the rest of the family? Perhaps we can barter, I am a degreed metallurgist with 27 years experience is steel copper, stainless, heat treatment, failure analysis. |

Welcome to Artmetal Deborah,
Welcome to Artmetal Deborah, Years back I had an acquaintance in the engineering department here who was responsible for discovering the failure point of old steel bridges that were removed in the state. He would let us come watch these gigantic hydraulic presses slowly push down on these old bridges. It would take 3-5 days, 24 hrs a day before the bridge broke, but they always broke, lol.
I don't have any experience with hydraulic forming, I just wanted to say hi and welcome. I guarantee there are people here that do though.
