I'm thinking that few others know it's there either. I was hoping someone would tell me there were regular get togethers there over coffee on such and such days/times.

Never that I know of. Been in a few times, lights were always off and someone took the coffee pot home.

Crosby welcome to this site. I`ve been a couple times to the chat cafe, and never got a little coffee either! Why is that so? Tecnically and artistically speaking, I believe we the people in this site are at a very good level, but comunication wise, I think the site could be more interactive. Taking a stand like this has big risks as one can be pointed out. On the other hand, any constructive comment though a bit touchy, should be regarded as useful.This could be seen as something best not to be said, but then, do we really care about others and this site, beyong tech benefits and showing our "stuff". Respectfully, I say: let`s drink some coffee... that may be nourishing and fun????????????????????????????????????????? Nelson.

Hi Nelson, thanks for the welcome. There's ties when I just feel like chatting about metal work and Kevin has Called-ID. :-)

I just mentioned to a friend that I was learning to weld/sculpt and his reply was, "So, what else are you doing?" Meaning, "So what, talk about something else." It would be nice to chat/read chats about art, welding, sculpture, metal...refilling the pot if you take the last cup.

Well lets see what happened to the good old days of the Thursday nite chat. Hmmmmm

Anyhow long time ago when this site first started the chat was the most valuable because of the great artist and their knowledge.

At one time there was actual chat monitor. He use to have guest speakers and everything.

Then I guess people got too busy to stop by.

So if anybody wants to be a chat monitor and set up certain times to chat the chat room is there.

Do we have to have a moderator? That's the like a job...work, requires a schedule...commitment and possible disappointment if no one shows up. I king of like the idea of going into chat if you just feel like talking. Scheduled chat sessions with guests, etc. would be awesome, too, though.

Guess what I'll do from time to time is log in via a second browser window and leave it open and see what happens.

Scheduled general chat times might be nice, too. I'm the new kid, just throwing out ideas.

Hey Crosbby, very interactive comments... Just curious but respectfully, what the heck is that device you got on your face man? It looks like some warfare stuff, or is it some medical head correction, or aligning contraption. Excuse my ignorance Crossby. I`ve just realized this is no metal related topic, and rather good for the coffee chat huh...Nelson.

Originally, I started using that with the green tint (ripped off from Star Trek) when I bought my first bluetooth headset, seemed appropriate. Kind of grew on me. :-)
