Whitesmithing | Repousse & Chasing | Artmetalists copper | supplier Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good copper supplier. I had been using Storm Copper but now they have stopped carrying the size that I always use. I need 12" wide by 25'-50' in length. I use 0.010 or 30ga. copper foil for a lot of my projects and was wanting another supplier if anyone knew of any. I could buy in 24" widths from Storm Copper and cut it in half with my bandsaw but it is Double the price for some reason for the same amount of copper. I need to order ASAP so any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you, ![]() Thin

Joe you work with some thin copper, .010in? I know that Home Depot here sells 12" wide rolls of copper sheet and might be around that thin. I never bought any because too thin. I will work 16oz (.023 in) but stuff does not hold shape well. Nice having close so no shipping charges. They might be able to tell you if their is a supplier closer to home. www Metalrecipes -- heat and beat to the desired shape, repeat as necessary. ![]() Warren, I have admired your

Warren, I have admired your work for years and knew that you used heavy copper but the heaviest that I have ever used is 16oz. I was wondering, what oz. copper did you use on the apples in the "Tree of Knowledge" Those apples are so realistic and just blows my mind of how you made them. Not only the shape of the apple but the patina too! Thanks for all your help! (The copper at Home Depot is 36ga. or thinner and has adhesive on one side, I looked at that a while back) Thanks, Can't never could do Nothing! ![]() The above suggestions are

Thanks Guys, I will have to call those suppliers because it doesn't seem that they have anything that thin listed on their websites. I really appreciate all your help, that is what makes Artmetal the Greatest! Thanks, Can't never could do Nothing! ![]() Stephan makes a really good

Stephan makes a really good point about sending a pic or two of your artwork to the suppliers - they usually love that stuff and sometimes ask to include your photos in their advertising or website. Really thin stuff like you're looking for might be best sourced through a roofing supplier or crafts supplier - people use that really thin stuff for embossing, I believe. If your local library has the Thomas Register you might check in there. When you call Atlas, ask for either my girl Kaci or Stephan's guy Fred. Tell whoever you talk to that you got the tip from us on ArtMetal.com and there's a good chance the person will remember dealing with us previously - that gives you a better footing, probably. There is a good chance that Atlas can roll the stock down for you if they don't have what you want already in stock, too. In the past they've been able to supply sheet in any hardness from dead soft to full hard, so I believe they may do some rolling on premises. Worth asking, anyway. Thanks Rich, I'll do that. I appreciate everyone's help on this. I make my roses from this thin stock and I have been commissioned to do the complete wedding party. I just finished cutting all my rose pieces and ran out of stock for the leaves and such. I could use 16oz for the leaves if I have to but I am trying to keep the weight down as much as possible for the tiara and the bouquets. Thanks again for everyone's help. Copper flashing is usually 8, 10, 12 oz stuff. IF you want to order 50# or more of the thin stuff, All Foils in Ohio is competitive and you can specify the width. ![]() Wedding Party Roses

I get my copper and bronze
I get my copper and bronze from Atlas Metals in Denver. Check out their website to see if they have what you want or give them a call. They're extremely helpful folks in my experience, especially Kaci in Sales.
