Polishing Copper

Whitesmithing | Repousse & Chasing | Artmetalists |

Hi,
I know that there have been many post on this subject but I was wondering if anyone knows of any new products or ways to polish copper to a high shine without having to use a rag. I make a lot of fountains with flowers and find that alot of people want a bright shine. My problem is that with the intricate flowers that I make, I cannot get down into the cracks and crevises to polish them. After brazing I put them in a pickle solution and then wire brush them by hand to get the pinkish residue off of them due to pickling. Do they make a spray that will clean and shine copper without haveing to buff it? I use a dremel tool also but still not small enough for some places.
I would appreciate any ideas or tricks that you have had success with.

Thanks in advance,
Copperjoe

Hi Copperjoe, I've used

Hi Copperjoe,

I've used Never Dull by Eagle One to polish up copper pieces. It's a wadding polish, so it can be wadded around the end of a tooth pick, or a cotton swap.

I've even pulled the cotton off of the end of a swab and wadded the never dull wad around the end of the swab then stuck the other end of the swab in the Flex Shaft, or dremel.
Never Dull works quite fast...

Hopefully this helps...

Hi Jamie,

I will try that, I think that I have seen the Never Dull at hardware stores. I will pick up a can and give it a try.
Thanks so much for your input!

Bristle End Brushes

Joe,
I have use bristle end brushes on a mandrel to get in the hard to reach areas. Little pumice powder and water will work on them.
They look like this:
