To Much....Come on!!

I know everyone here loves to post their work. Some of the work is better than others but for the most part I enjoy looking at all of the work posted.
But I do not agree that it is necessary to use up an entire page of posting's unless it is relevent to a project. For me it is a turn off to what is very gifted work. A few simple posts and a website would a have been prefered. But that's just my opinion.
Please, if want to see all of your work I would prefer to view it on a website dedicated to you!!
I was impressed by the work but turned off by the numerous posting's.
Sorry!!

Chuck

Agree

I have agree with Chuck since he beat me to it. Im new here but have been on other sites and haven't seen anyone over do it like that. By the way Chuck it's about three pages. And like Chuck said the work is nice and there is quality but it can get old quick. Don't mean to be rude just my opinion.

Here to Learn

Hi Chuck, although I understand your feelings, i have to disagree with you here. If an experienced metal worker joins Artmetal, he or she is going to bring a large portfolio. All of the work is really impressive and I'm pretty sure he's not completing 15 pieces of work a day, so it will stop eventually. This is the reason that the "Recent Blog" tab and "All Recent" tab were created. Keep all of the latest info in a blog and you don't have to wade through all of the picts in "All Recent". He's not posting 15 picts of the same project, he has just had the wonderful opportunity to work and document a lot of cool projects. We should never be upset that someone is posting quality work and god forbid someone doesn't post something spectacular because he/she feels like they have posted too much already. I say bring on the pictures and descriptions, I'll take any opportunity I can to learn something new. Just my two cents.

Hi Chuck, Well, this seems

Hi Chuck,
Well, this seems to be a touchy issue. So what ever our views are, they should not be harsh, on the contrary, simply educated criticism. Personally, and as I commented already, the work of Stephen is great in quality and quantity. I checked his work, but the point came where I did not know if I had already seen some of his latest posts, the were abundant and frankly felt like ok, I`ve seen enough and it`s probably about the same stuff. Of course nothing is written against the right to post as many times as we wish, nonetheless too much may just be detrimental to the author himself, due to misunderstanding the reason he`s overdoing it. It`s happen a few times on this site... dosifying deliveries may be more pleasant. Strawberries with whipping cream, oh I die for them, but please don`t serve me such delicacy three tiems a day for a week... sorry just a culinary annalogy. I love your work Stephen don`t get me wrong. Chuck I must say I could never leave the "say what you think club you founded", always for the sake of benefit of anyone. Why not address issues as in a family, a big one. Best wishes to all. Nelson.

Ed how many photos have you

Ed how many photos have you posted lately? I just tracked your posts and you only have 4, of which only 2 are photos. Doesn't seem excessive at all.

Hi all,

Frankly I`m not a moderator, but since there`s no restrictions to say what one thinks, respectfully of course, there seems to be a confusion as to whom some comments are aimed. Probably, if we read preceeding answers to “ To much…come on !!" then things may straighthen out. Chuck aren`t you shooting at the wrong game? and the rabbit still running around you…lol. Wish all well. Nelson.

Hi Nelson, Maybe I shouldn't

Hi Nelson,
Maybe I shouldn't have even mentioned it.
My intent was soley to give MY opinion on the matter.
I am sure their are those of us who DO Not share my opinion.
However, I chose to.
I am entitled to my opinion, and just maybe if I say what I feel someone else can benefit.
Who knows?
Hope all is well!
And yes, I've been chasing that flipin Rabbit all my Life!!!

Regards,

Chuck

I was refering to the

I was refering to the original three pages Jake.
That was all.
I think Ed's work is exceptional!!
But I would prefer to view his entire portfolio in a different venue.

Chuck

Dear Chuck, Just for the

Dear Chuck,
Just for the sake of clarifying this confusion, Edwardo (Ed for short)has only posted a few images lately as Jake stated. Arent`t you talking about Fred Fitzgerald who is going on 4 not 3 pages of overwhelming yet great work? The only similarities justifying this mix up is the fact that both names Ed and Fred rhyme.

Formula : (ED not = FRED) = MIXUP

Wish to make this point clear: I`m not picking on you Chuck or you Fred F., Fred`s work is excellent, but you got a valid point too chuck. Hope Fred gets to read this blog sometime so it doesn`t appear as though we`re talking on his back. In all Chuck, I`m not sticking my head out again fearing to be the "flipping rabbit" ….LOL. Chuck and Nelson,

Chuck and Nelson,

his name is Stephen Fitz-Gerald and if you look back in the posts a year or so ago there was a conversation about this very thing. People were tired of having to flip through tons of photo entries to get to the blog posts, so Qui Que created the "All Recent" tab and the "Recent Images" tab. That way if a member didn't want to wade through all of the photos to get to the new blogs they could just look through the "Recent Blog" tab. Artmetal is a forum where metal art lovers can ask questions, get critiques, and SHOWCASE THEIR WORK. We should embrace all three. I'm not sure Stephen has many more picts loaded on this site than me, the difference is that he loaded all of his at one time and I loaded mine little by little over the past couple of years. Stephen's posting of picts has slowed down tremendously so either he got your gist or he loaded most of his portfolio.

I hope all of us have the opportunity get as many commissions as Stephen and that there is a forum for us to post them on.

Jake, Sorry I got his first

Jake,
Sorry I got his first name mixed up too at the end. Anyhow regardless of all that confusion, we knew whom we were talking about. No hard feelings towards anybody,it was just a civilized discussion where people took different stands. There`s got to be something positive out of this and that`s what`s important. I do like Stephen`s work a lot, and thanks also for your constructive input. nelson.

Had there been anything that

Had there been anything that I felt was outside the posted guidelines of ArtMetal, I would most assuredly have sent a direct message to the alleged "offender." However, all of Stephen's image posts are completely within the guidelines and welcome here. Yes, posted en masse like that they take up several pages of listings - no problem, that's precisely what the tabs are for, as Jake noted.

I would suggest that if anyone feels that a post(s) is inappropriate in any way they should send either me or QuiQue a message so I/we can evaluate the post(s) and take any corrective measures necessary. That is part of my function as Moderator, and I'm happy to do it. Handling such things through one of us has the added benefit of avoiding any issues of personality differences, etc. We fade the heat so youse guys don't have to. (grin)

Hey Guys, I just want to add

Hey Guys,

I just want to add that some of the folks on ArtMetal don't have their own Website, and if you are referring to ArtMetal as a family, "Our Family" then we should be able to post and share as much as we want, and like Jake and Rich said that's the reason for the tabs.

Websites can be very expensive and time consuming to put together. Having ArtMetal to share our work is a plus to all.

Most people who post multiple pics at one time are usually doing so because they are showing you the viewer different angles of their work.

We come from different parts of the world, so when someone is searching for advice, a constructive critique, or their accomplishments I'm sure it's to give you a really good view of what their trying to share.

Too Much,Come On...

Stephen Fitz-Gerald

OMG I just found this thread.
I am so sorry I have inadvertently broken protocol on this site. I am simply ignorant of the way in which information, images etc. is handled here(and etiquette).
I am instuctionally challenged...LOL. It took me an entire year to figure out how to post images. I finally viewed the instructional video then all was clear. But IMHO this site is allot more complicated and less intuitive to navigate than many other art oriented sites. I've never had to view an instructional video before on any site to learn how to post images.
And I never found anything discouraging posting consecutive images. That doesn't mean it wasn't there,it just means I didn't see it).
I joined this fraternity to take part in discussion, to learn through interaction, sharing technique and all aspects of metal work. I apologize to one and all for what I am hearing as taking too much space.
I DO have a website, several in fact but I find it inconvenient to jump to links and assumed it was so for others as well.I looked in the various galleries here to see the breadth and depth of the work produced ,and when curious followed the links to the artist's personal site, but it was the pieces I saw in the galleries which encouraged me to look further...
Again,I apologize to one and all.

Hi Stephen, I love

Hi Stephen,
I love interacting with people, for which comunication is of paramount importance. At times we agree, at times we don`t. This in my opinion is one of those issues that lend themselves to confusion, due to all the subjectivity involved. Since I was one of the guys questioning your posting, I too, want to appologize and make sure that at least you, understand that although my comments may have appeared blunt, deep inside I meant no harm ... Beyond that, only rests to say that I admire your work, and your actitud. I`m ready again for a whole bunch of your good
posts LOL. Wish you well Stephen. Nelson.
