Are there any members in the Atlanta Georgia area?

|

Hi everyone,

I have a small problem that I am in need of help with. A short while ago I sent 4 railing components to Atlanta Georgia and Purolator beat them up and bent all the lower flanges that are used to attach the railing to wood posts. Purolator won't take responsibility and ship them back or pay for replacement of the railings.

Just joined Etsy to sell handmade pieces

| | |

Thought I would share this even though I am not sure how many at ArtMetal know about Etsy but I stumbled on it through a blog from Seth Godin. It is a web site specifically designed where you can join and setup your own shop for handmade products. So even though I have my own web site with a virtual storefront where people can purchase designs I also just setup an Etsy shop since they can generate huge traffic from around the world.

Google SketchUp 3D Rendering Program

| |

Not sure if anyone has seen this so I thought I would pass this on, Google has a free easy to use 3 Dimensional Rendering program called SketchUp 7. I have started to use it to design wrought iron railings and other furnishings for clients to see exactly what they will get. It is easy to use and Google has lot's of tutorials. You can find it and download it for Windows & Mac at http://sketchup.google.com/ and the startup tutorials are there as well.

Hello

Money Makers | | |

Hello,

I have just joined Art Metal and the Money Makers group. I really enjoy everything I have seen so far on this site. It is great to see the huge amount of creativity and talent at work. I have been dabbling in creating metal work and other designs over the past 8 years and am slowly working towards doing it full time.
