Hello all,
Here’s a recently completed collaboration between myself and Carl Radke, his glass work is amazing. I was blessed to have Carl ask me to make a metal base for his lamp, I love doing projects like this.

I have to say that is one of

I have to say that is one of the most refreshing and quality executed designs and lamps I have seen as long as can remember.  Probably ever.  And I say that as an old top of the class Industrial Design graduate of the University of Illinois way back...  I do pay attention to quality design.   It has so many features that involk positive and internal responses that make it a real gem...  Thanks for posting it.

Meant to write this a week

Meant to write this a week ago and got hung up. Great work. I love all of the detail and texture. Glass and metal are a great combination when done right. Something about transparency against opaque really makes for a great look and this piece definitely fits the bill. Your lucky to have a such a talented glass worker close by and visa versa.

This functional metal art

This functional metal art floor lamp stand is exquisite! I know you worked with the glass artist on this piece. How did you like collaborating with another artist? Did you design the metalwork yourself, or was it a collaboration?

Thanks QQ, Carl (phoenix

Thanks QQ,
Carl (phoenix studios art glass) brought me the amphora, and the globe, and asked me to make legs and a top cradle. We collaborated on the basic shape, 3 legs with knee's, and then he said go for it. In the end he said 'I think you got a little exited' ha, ha. Carl's great.
Its fun to collaborate with other artisans, it opens up horizons that you might miss on your own.
Also, I am just about complete with the next collaboration of a modern design reception desk with a wood worker, we’re installing it now, and I’ll post it soon.
