Beautiful Railings!!!!

Hi Matt,
I absolutely love your railing, it's very much in the style I work in. A kindred spirit... Was it only the outside piece and balcony?? Did you work alone or did you have an assitant? My last railing job which I've posted on Art Metal was a killer. I had to have it done in a much shorter time period. I had two people helping me and I was working long hours. It took me approx. between 3-4 months.EEK!! I really should have had more time and less stress. Would really like to find out the details of your railing. Janet R.

Hi Janet, Thank you much, OK

Hi Janet,
Thank you much, OK details, lets just say I feel your pain (your last job). the bid was for 6 months. but i decided when I started this job that if it caused me to go bankrupt what I would give it my all. it almost did. the other reason it took almost a year was that I decided to take on another large commission right after this one, and after never came. it was both at the same time. life is full of lessons, I think I learned my degree in scheduling. soooo enough whining.
there is two stair cases with guard rail, two with only hand rail, two cat walks and a lot of deck. the pictures are of one stair case and the one interior rail.
I have yet to have my photo man take pictures, so this is what I have.
also i have two employees and yes it was the good ol' 1hr days 7 days a week. nothing like fatigue to drive a lesson home.

a kindred spirit
I love art

heres a balcony from the other job (about 180 lineal feet), I never took any photos of the completed job.hotel chevalhotel cheval

Very nice work. 250 feet is a lot of metal railings! So, from what you are saying over 230 feet was made for the exterior? Can I ask what your finishing process was?

Quique, just powder coat,

Quique,
just powder coat,
finally found a way to do a good looking and durable two tone finish for exterior, and I've tried it all, really.
-basically bake on the primer and then first coat (gold in my case).
-then spray on the second coat (black bronze in my case) and before baking, use your finger to wipe off the edges, and pat it, and blow on it, and stand on your head and cross your toes.
It takes for ever but the results are well worth it. just be sure to do plenty of sample pieces, if its wrong its really bad

its funny i just spoke with my powder coater (Advanced Powder Coating) today and every other local ironworker wants him to do this finish.
thanks
Matt
