These have included carved wood, cast and molten sprayed bronze, copper, or aluminum doors and entries for churches and commissioned establishments as well as large relief and free standing garden and entry pieces for individuals, public works and corporate collections though out the USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia and Europe. Work has been published and featured by: HOUSE AND GARDEN magazine, DIVERSION magazine, RODALE PRESS in book form, ART CASTING JOURNAL feature 2000 & 2001, PLAYBOY magazine numerous times, THE GUILD 8 ‘93,THE GUILD 9 ‘94,THE GUILD 11 ‘96,THE GUILD 12 ‘97, THE GUILD 14 ‘99, THE GUILD 15 ‘00, THE GUILD 16 ‘01, THE GUILD 17 ‘02,THE GUILD 18 ‘03, 1976-84 Designed, subcontracted and trained other artists, students and graduates while building eight separate custom homes with sculptural form features in a variety of commercial and native media. Details, photos and articles on several are available . 1991-2002 Started conducting several yearly 6 to 8 week classes through the United Health Services Department of Connecticut and also UPTYME of Rhode Island (a prevention and Early Intervention Training Service ) for challenged teens and elderly to promote creative outlets and discoveries in areas and media that are seldom touched in normal art classes. Details, photos or videos are available. 1992 Opened an additional Studio for personal study of tropical plants and ocean life while also painting and Scuba Diving the volcanic cathedrals off the Lana`i, Hawaii coast. 1993, ‘97, & ‘99 Worked with the Lanai natives for several months at a time and set up a community fabrication workshop/studio in the heart of Lanai City (funded by Mr. David Murdock & Castle and Cook Corp. which owns much of the Island and promotes native arts and skills. 1996 International Sculptors Conference, RI Convention Center . Lecturer and Panel Coordinator for INDIVIDUAL STUDIO CASTING FOUNDRIES Advantages and Means (with 3 other sculptors). 2001-02 Awarded VISITING ARTIST IN RESIDENCE / Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts for the Island of Lana`i, Hawaii while creating a 22 ft. tall bronze and mixed media sculpture with participatory interactions of the locals and students of the Lana`i K-12 Island Public School . Presently continue doing sculpture and site specific commissions. Also working with directed desires of architects and designers. Occasionally employ or contract custom professionals per commission to execute large scale public works. Most of these have been in fabricated , metalized and cast combinations ranging in sizes from hand held to several tons and stories tall for installations throughout the country. See photo portfolio. Current Woodstock Pole Bridge Studio / Foundry media used most are: 1. Cutting, shearing, forming, braking, chasing and rolling sheet stock or swaging with 2. Gas, Arc, Synchrowave Heli-arc, plasma cutting and welding for fabrication of both ferrous and nonferrous metals. 3. Spraying molten metals both ferrous and nonferrous (copper, aluminum, stainless steel and bronzes, etc.) onto open surfaced molds or fabricated armatures while at temperatures up to 3200 F as well as cold cast and cold catalytic surfaces of bronzes and copper. 4. Hand Built, surface modeled or mold cast resin bonded marble that is pulverized and mixed with a cold set catalytic resin binder (polyester or epoxy) to set or harden in a predetermined time frame . 5. Conventional Lost Wax metal casting using plaster based burnout or Silicone RTV multi use molding. 6. Polyester Resin or Epoxy and fiberglass lay-up of figures and forms. 7. Hand and machine carved woods, laminates, stone plastics and rigid foams. 8. Metal and wood lath turning and carving. 9. Photography and computerized CAD and altered form generation to print, draw. plot or cutout 2D surfaces for later 3D scaling, signage, poster and sand blasting operations. 10. as well as conventional building and machining methods which at times are subcontracted out. Hundreds of extensive photo sequence process shots are taken in the studio often via self-timed camera. Many of the more unusual media operations detail and illustrate this for lecture and demonstration talks.
