i just joined here beacause i finally read an email i got from Mr. Waugh. this is a great site just from digging about. i am an amatuer smith/ student and probably half the age of the next youngest person on here (i am only 16, but pedophiles be ware! i am about 6 foot 3 and weigh about 245lbs, hence going by bigfoot!). i make knives, hooks, tongs, and whatever needs making or i want to make. even though i am young i do like forging, but don't like making swords or big blades. i started out about a year ago and now am actually selling the odd piece. the market for 'rustic' stuff in my area is picking up with the economy a little bit, so that is helping. i like to make tools, not artsy fartsy stuff, which is why i do not sell that many pieces. that and i am focused on getting a hammer just right. i have only practiced on 10 hot tools and tomahawks! lol' happpy hamering to all and good luck on your projects!
