Yes, it looks like a lot of work to make the folds come out so even but I am curious about how you attached to to the inside form. Is each fold soldered/brazed the length of the fold to the inside and the bottom.

Rick and Marilyn, Flower

Rick and Marilyn,
Flower vase is made from ONE sheet of copper. There are no solder seams. It is made from one ten inch discs of copper.
This piece spent more time on the drawing table than it did anywhere else. The piece is really kind of funny. Of all the pcs here it's the one that is picked up last, eyes are drawn to bowls and platters. But it's the piece people can't seem to let go of. The concave bottom surprises people. The fact that the form creates another cone shape in reverse to the outside shape is just a treat. When they are looking at the bottom they realise that there are some very organic shapes to the petals that appear so stylized from the top. The piece also twists as it climbs. In my early posts are some pieces called idea development this piece comes from that copper dreaming. Thanks for your comments very much appreciated. Enjoy Brad

I think the vase is amazing.

I think the vase is amazing. I can't believe that started out as a single sheet of metal and was folded into that complex shape. So even and symmetrical. Nice work.

I am in AWE!!!!

Your vase is simply exquisite. I too can't believe it came from one piece of sheet. My son used to do origami and it always amazed me , this is that type of complex process. Totally astounding to the unenlightened. So sensual! janet R.

Great exploration of technique

You are doing a great job of exploring this variation of technique and it is producing some wonderful shapes. Congratulations! Look forward to seeing more and more.
