wrought Iron repairs

Hello I am an architectural conservation student and this coming tuesday i have to produce a seminar paper and presentation on the repair of historic wrought iron from corrosion. Does anyone out there have any photos of the various types of joints found in wrought iron that they can send me (if possible could you also tell me any special names given to these joints). Also if anyone has any photos/information or opinions on tackling repairs to corroded historic ironwork i would be very grateful to hear from you. Kind Regards

I would do a search for repair, restoration of metalwork on US gov sites like the National Park Service who oversee and set policy for repair and preservation of historic architecture.  For instance, when needing to repair a patina on an old bronze, I found this Gov site....

I find these sites useful.

Look up Abana a blacksmith organization. Ask them the question, this is directly related to forging pcs. that
become fused together. Also fitting into one another while
hot. When the parts cool down they become "frozen" for good.
You will find out many interesting way to hold metal together.
My name is Patrick I had a metal/blacksmith shop for 27 years,
until the scumbags closed me down under eminent domain!
