maybe I should've posted it earlier but the silversmithing congress 2008 in europe is coming up. 25 26 27 april, this time held in the netherlands, partualy in shertogenbosch and schoonhoven.
schoonhoven is the national "silver city" and has a world reputation in silversmithing and goldsmithing. the three day congress will include:

Jan van Nouhuys: in my upinion the best silversmith the netherlands have to offer. googlesearch him NOW (I mean it. Do it now. his attelier is named studio925 witch will be visited). he wil talk about his new upcoming masterclasses
jan mathesius: about his work and technic. old teacher of mine. he's good

visit to the vakschool for silversmithing and goldsmithing in schoonhoven. my school. this is where I train.

opening of the exhibition Bowl of Earthly Delights for the silversmiths, inspired on the famous work of dutch painter jeroen bosch, the garden of earthly delights. now this is going to be fun. I participate in this exhibition. there will voted for the winner & prizes include 1000 gr. of sterling! Ill post my bowl latter today.

whe will also visit some silversmiths and galaries and much more.

manny of europes best will be there to exchance tips and technikes and share there pasion.

iff youre in the neighbourhood don't miss out on this importand event. costs are 85 euro. oficial entry hass will be closed today but I know from the main initiator that there are still some places left.
