Recent comments

When someone posts a response, does the original post go to the top when you are in the 'Recent Posts' page? It seemed like they were, and I could just read the most recent and be caught up. But it sometimes seems that responses to posts are marked 'new' but the original post doesn't rise to the top. For example, if someone posts a response to something on the 3rd page of Recent Posts, it will stay on page 3?

Just confused, any help would be appreciated. I am trying to stay active and don't want to miss much.

What you are saying about

What you are saying about the recent posts link is suppose to be true. If someone posts a comment to an old post, the post and the new comment IS suppose to go to the top of the recent posts.

If you have found that this is not the case, could you provide the url to the suspect post/comment and maybe a screen shot of the first page of recent posts? I haven't seen this problem, but then I haven't really paid close attention to it.

Thanks

Right now, for example,

Right now, for example, there are 3 new posts in J.R.'s Dragon in Process, but I have to scroll down past about 14 posts (which I have already read) to get to it. Therefore I almost overlooked it. Yet your replies to my posts brought my posts with the new responses up to the top. Seems like it happening randomly?

Do me a favor and look at

Do me a favor and look at the date/time the comment is posted and see if it is recent. If I skip over a new post/comment it will still be listed on other pages. Each user has there own database entry which keeps track of the posts/comments they have viewed. So what I see as recent is different than what you see.

I started looking at older pages via my account and have found posts/comments that have the "new" tag. But when I look at the date that the post/comment is dated, I find that it was posted weeks ago. I just had not taken the time to look at them so, as far as the system is concerned, they are "new" posts to me.

Make sense?
